I believe that the cosmic 2000 is just that watch. From its beauty to its ruggedness, from the accurate movement to the 60 meter resistance to water, this watch will out perform others easily. Omega was “getting with the times” and Cosmic represented a radically different design philosophy compared to the traditional looking 50/60s Seamasters. The results speak for themselves. I've since acquired a Watchco SM300 565 which cost a hell of a lot more than the Cosmic and has more or less become my daily wearer, but the 2000 has great 70s style and I'm sure it will get some used once I've had it repaired. The Cosmic 2000 diver is a decent enough model with a 1012 automatic movement. This is a "hi beat" movement that run faster and are supposedly are more accurate (technicians will correct me if I'm mistaken about that) but require servicing slightly more often. Not every watchmaker will undertake that as you need a special tool to remove the .
Hi, My father gave me a non running omega. After a good service, it's now working fine and I would like to put a leather strap on it. 1. How do I remove the bracelet? On one side there is a slot where I see the pin. On the other side there is just metal. 2. .
tdn-dk. Hate to admit that I actually like these 1970's Seamaster Cosmic 2000. They have a good size and and a little bit of the 1970's vibe 😀. Not all watchmakers like these cases with their inner and outer case and "press in" front and back in gaskets. I have had these two as project watches, non running, well used with patina for some time.

The Omega Seamaster Cosmic 2000 thread!
Last year I "upgraded" to a Boost LV . The ski is great apart from one issue: the footwell is always full of water. The bailer doesn't work for me. Unlike the Cruize , which has the same system that kicks in at around 4km/h, the Boost LV doesn't start draining until 8-10 km/h . Unfortunately this is far beyond my cruising speed.
