It’s certainly for me the best Rolex, Iv had all sports models since I started in 1987. Never have more than one at a time thought!! my least favourite was the Daytona as a former professional race driver it just didn’t do the job of a highly legible chronograph as well as other options available to me at the time, my other favourite was maybe a vintage 5513.

The AK has quite a strong legacy, and I believe even predates the Explorer. The difference is that the Explorer has changed little in its history - pretty much always the 3-6-9 dial, 36mm for all but a stretch at 39 (though the earliest may have been 34) - while the AK has changed frequently.
